The Recessionals plays traditional jazz, swing, second line, and dixieland in the style of the early settlers of jazz. Born on the streets of New York City, The Recessionals met while studying at NYU with a desire to provide an entertaining and musically authentic show. The group's vast repertoire includes New Orleans standards, gospel, spirituals, and early New York City/Tin Pan Alley standards.
